Always backup your database before performing an update! By default your SureTrend database should be located at
C:\ProgramData\Hygiena\SureTrend\suretrend.sdf but this may have been changed to another location. To see the actual location where your data currently resides follow the steps below:
- Open SureTrend and click on the Admin tab at the top.
- Click on Server Configuration Setting on the left. If the Config Type is set to SQL Ce then the path to the database is listed in the Database Name box. Make sure you backup this file in case you need to restore it after the update. If the Config Type is set to Distributed or SQLServer, make note of any information listed here as it may be needed later in the Final Steps below.
To update SureTrend simply download the latest version from our website. You can also check here for the latest version.
Simply install it over the version already present on the machine. You do not need to uninstall SureTrend prior to perfoming this update. Simple choose to update the application if prompted, run the installation and click Finish at the end. That’s it!Final Steps
Be sure to open SureTrend and verify you still see your data. Nothing should have changed. If you do not see your data go back to the Admin tab and go to Server Configuration Setting. If your Config Type was set to Distributed or SQLServer, be sure to change the information back to what you made note of earlier. If it was SQL Ce be sure to point the location in Database Name back to what you made note of earlier. If your database was located in the default location originally then replace it with the backup you took earlier.
